Psychology Teacher & Counselor at Tiyan High School
Paul Lazarra has been a School Counselor at Tiyan High School for over 3 years. With a Master’s Degree in Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology earned from the University of Guam, he aims to create and provide solutions for the difficulties students undergo while in high school. While obtaining his degrees, he had gained experience and exposure to the psychological aspect of providing therapy and the school counseling aspect of academic counseling. Lazarra is also the mental health counselor for the UOG Triton Esports team.

Coping with Education during the Pandemic
With the arrival of the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the school system has undergone massive changes to better accommodate our students. From the introduction of online and hard copy models of instruction, to the transition of Face-to-Face while following COVID-19 protocols and providing more online access for our students, Lazarra discusses the benefits and difficulties GDOE has faced with the rise of pandemic, especially through the growing usage of technology in our schools.
